How we handle your data.

What we collect, why, who processes it, and the rights you have over it.

This is a plain-language summary of how Christian Media Report handles personal data. It is written to be honest and readable rather than exhaustive, and it is reviewed as the site grows.

Who is responsible

Christian Media Report is an initiative of New Faith Network, which is the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us about anything on this page at iemke.roos@beyonddutch.com.

What we collect and why

We keep the data we collect to a minimum, and we only collect it when you give it to us.

The weekly email (Radar). If you subscribe, we store your email address to send the weekly briefing. Subscription is double opt-in: you confirm by clicking a link in an email, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe. We do not buy or sell email addresses.

The report download. If you request the report, we store the details you enter on the form (such as your name, email address and organisation) so we can send you the report. Christian Media Report is an initiative of New Faith Network, and we may also use these details to contact you about the report, about related research and about New Faith Network’s work. Every such message includes a way to opt out, and you can ask us to stop at any time (see Your rights below).

Booking a meeting. If you book a meeting, the scheduling is handled by our booking provider, which collects the details you enter to arrange the call and send you a confirmation.

The survey. The European Christian Media Survey is fielded separately by New Faith Network. Responses are held there, and no personal data from the survey is published on this site or in the report. See the methodology page for how survey data is handled and aggregated.

Analytics. We measure visits with a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics tool. It does not track you across sites and does not build a profile of you, which is why this site needs no cookie banner.

Who processes it

We use a small number of established providers to run the site and its email, each acting on our instructions: our hosting provider (the website), our email provider (the newsletter and transactional email), our analytics provider (cookie-free measurement), our scheduling provider (meeting bookings) and our code and content platform. Each processes data only to provide its service.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you have a relationship with us - while you are subscribed, or while a request is being handled - and remove it when it is no longer needed or when you ask us to.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. To do any of these, email iemke.roos@beyonddutch.com. You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes

If this notice changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date below and, where appropriate, tell subscribers by email.
