A radio-based Bible study curriculum has reached 3 million young Africans since 2004, illustrating how Christian broadcasters sustain discipleship content across languages and decades.
TWR now broadcasts Biblica’s Reach4Life curriculum, a Bible-study programme addressing addiction, family conflict and identity, across six African countries in four languages. The programme, originally developed in 2004 as a response to the HIV epidemic in South Africa, has reached 3 million young people in 40 countries since its creation. For Christian media organisations, the case illustrates how radio remains a durable channel for sustained discipleship content in regions with limited internet access. It also shows a long-running curriculum being repeatedly adapted, now in its fourth version, to stay relevant to changing youth concerns over two decades.
Separately, ECMS 2026 data from an engaged-Christian audience in the Netherlands and Belgium found greater demand for Bible study among under-35s than over-55s, 43 per cent against 31 per cent, a pattern broadly consistent with sustained youth interest in structured Bible-based content seen in this African radio programme.
