TikTok's European business posted its first profit despite heavy legal costs, a development relevant to Christian media that use the platform to reach audiences.
TikTok’s UK-based European entity reported its first pre-tax profit last year, with revenue up about 46 per cent to 9.2 billion dollars, according to its 2025 annual report. The company also set aside more than a billion dollars for legal cases and fines. The platform’s growing commercial strength matters to Christian media organisations that rely on it to reach audiences, since its financial stability and ongoing legal exposure can shape how reliable and how moderated a distribution channel it remains. Continued profitability may also mean more resources for content moderation systems, which affect how religious content is treated or restricted on the platform.
ECMS 2026 found that 51 per cent of respondents discover Christian content via social media, underlining why shifts in a major platform’s stability are relevant to Christian media, though the figure cannot be read as representative.
