Apple's easier podcast embed could help churches share episodes on their own sites

Apple's updated podcast embed player makes it simpler to place episodes on a website, a small but relevant tool for Christian organisations distributing audio and video content.

Apple Podcasts has refreshed the embedded player that publishers use to place episodes or shows directly on a website, adding support for video and trailers. Plays through the embed are not counted in Apple Podcasts Connect Analytics but do register with a show’s podcast host. For churches and Christian organisations that produce podcasts, an easier embed lowers the technical barrier to putting audio or video content directly on their own site rather than relying solely on podcast apps. The change is incremental, but it touches a distribution channel many smaller Christian producers depend on.

ECMS 2026 found that 44 per cent of under-35 respondents listen to Christian podcasts, compared with 21 per cent of over-55s, so easier web embedding may matter most for reaching that younger group.
